Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By using Novelis, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Novelis Is

Novelis is a reading progress tracker that allows users to log chapters, rate titles, track reading history, and participate in optional progression systems.

Novelis does not host, reproduce, stream, or distribute any manga, manhwa, manhua, light novel, or web novel content. All content remains on its original third-party sites. These Terms will be updated if in-app reading features are introduced.

3. Your Account

You agree that:

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You will provide a valid email address
• You will maintain only one account unless otherwise permitted
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Novelis

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to manipulate XP, coins, levels, or progression through exploits or API abuse
• Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the service
• Attempt to access other users' private data
• Use Novelis to facilitate copyright infringement

4a. Community Standards & Speech Policy

These standards apply to usernames, comments, ratings, reactions, bios, and all other user-generated content.

You agree not to post content that:

• Is hateful, discriminatory, or dehumanizing toward any person or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or socioeconomic status
• Harasses, threatens, stalks, or intimidates another user — including through repeated unwanted contact
• Impersonates another user, real person, or Novelis staff
• Contains graphic violence, gore, or content intended to disturb or distress other users
• Is sexually explicit or suggestive, particularly involving minors in any capacity
• Promotes, glorifies, or recruits for extremist ideologies, terrorist organizations, or mass violence
• Constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive low-quality content designed to farm XP or manipulate progression systems
• Reveals private information about another person without their consent (doxxing)
• Contains links to malicious sites, phishing pages, or illegal content

Usernames may not be used to impersonate other users, public figures, organizations, or Novelis staff. Novelis reserves the right to require username changes or assign a replacement username if necessary to prevent impersonation, confusion, abuse, or enforcement evasion.

On disagreement and criticism

Healthy disagreement about titles or genres is allowed. Criticism of content is permitted. Personal attacks on other users are not.

Enforcement

• Warnings or content removal at moderator discretion
• Temporary suspension for repeated or serious violations
• Immediate permanent ban for severe single violations including content involving minors, doxxing, credible threats, or attempts to evade enforcement actions

Ban decisions may be appealed by contacting admin@readnovelis.com.

Novelis reserves the right to remove content or restrict accounts at its sole discretion where necessary to maintain platform safety, enforce these Terms, or prevent abuse of service features.

5. Virtual Currency and Cosmetics

Novelis may provide XP, coins, cosmetic items, and progression indicators within the service. These items:

• Have no real-world monetary value
• Cannot be transferred between users
• Cannot be exchanged for real-world currency
• Are not refundable

Novelis may modify or discontinue progression systems at any time.

6. Content You Post

Comments, ratings, usernames, and other submitted content remain yours. By posting content, you grant Novelis a license to display that content within the service.

Some usernames, profile activity, comments, ratings, and progression indicators may be visible to other users within the service. Content violating these Terms may be removed.

7. Moderation

Novelis may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, subject to the appeal process described in Section 4a.

8. Copyright

If you believe content hosted directly by Novelis infringes your copyright, contact admin@readnovelis.com. We will respond promptly.

Novelis does not host third-party reading content. Reports concerning external sites should be directed to those sites directly.

9. Disclaimer

Novelis is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no guarantees regarding:

• Uptime or availability
• Preservation of progression data or cosmetic items
• Uninterrupted service operation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Novelis shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages resulting from use of or inability to use the service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.

11. Feature Availability

Novelis may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice, including progression systems, cosmetic items, integrations, or experimental functionality.

12. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as the service evolves. Continued use of Novelis after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
