1. Who We Are

Novelis is a personal reading tracker for manga, manhwa, manhua, light novels, and web novels. Novelis is operated by an individual developer.

2. What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Novelis:

• Email address and username (account creation)
• Reading progress, library entries, chapter history, ratings, comments, and other activity within the service
• URLs you enter for titles in your library (third-party site links — Novelis does not visit or scrape these)
• XP, level, coins, and cosmetic items (in-app progression data)
• Device type and browser information (standard server logs)

3. How We Use It

We use collected information:

• To provide and improve the Novelis service
• To sync your reading progress across sessions
• To operate progression systems such as XP, levels, coins, and cosmetics
• To display public leaderboard information (username, XP, and level — never email)
• To display usernames, comments, ratings, and progression indicators to other users within the service where applicable
• To allow moderators and administrators to review content and activity where necessary to enforce service rules and maintain platform safety

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored using Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Firestore, hosted in the United States.

Google Firebase acts as a data processor on our behalf for authentication, database storage, and secure infrastructure hosting.

Account data is retained until the user deletes their account or requests deletion.

5. EU Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting admin@readnovelis.com. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

A self-service account deletion feature is planned for a future update.

6. Browser Extension (Future)

Novelis does not currently operate a browser extension. If a Novelis browser extension is released in the future, it may detect chapter URLs on supported reading sites to help update reading progress automatically. This Privacy Policy will be updated before release to describe what data is accessed, why it is accessed, and how long it is retained.

7. In-App Reading (Future)

Novelis does not currently host, reproduce, or display any manga, manhwa, manhua, light novel, or web novel content. If in-app reading features are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect any changes to how third-party content is accessed or displayed.

8. Cookies

Novelis uses Firebase Authentication session tokens to maintain login sessions. Novelis does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children

Novelis is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact admin@readnovelis.com and we will remove the information promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as the service evolves. Continued use of Novelis after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Significant changes may be announced within the application.
